These are new but they matched what was the original. The originals had been destroyed years ago from a storm and from what I understand some vandalism.
My Father donated the cost of this Bay of Windows
My Father donated funds to replace one Bay of three old windows that where here and replace it with this set that matched the original. Four families did this, as well as the Ambassador from Hungary donated funds for the other four sets. My dad in his generousity added the family but it really was all him and his lovely wife Joy
Of course not all Immigrants to the area where of Hungarian decent. Many came in from around the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Some even came from Germany and Sweden, and of course from around Europe. This Plaque is at the Kaposvar Church
A front view of the lovely field stone church. Our Lady of Assumption. Also a nice view of the rectory. I personally have never been inside the rectory. I hope to one day hopefully this year if I get to Saskatchewan
I love how all that field stone dominates the exterior of this lovely old Girl
It is in English, French, and in Hungarian
This plaque is at the front entrance of the Lady of assumption Church. It is a good read
This is the gate from the parking lot entering the grounds to the site. It is being vey well taken care of in the last several years. One area of huge improvement is the Cemetery which is just to the right of this sign. The people doing all the work deserve a huge applause
This is the Bell Tower, It is on the North West Corner of the Church. It is a massive structure (meaning the look of it not so much the size) that is well proportioned in Hight and Width. The tower holds three bells. I actually was allowed to ring the bells last October when I was there to visit the place.
This is of course the Altar at the Church of Our Lady of Assumption. It is a rather lovely alter with the decoration on the side panels, and the relief picture of the Last Super.
The name of this lovely Field tone Church in Kaposvar is ,Our Lady of Assumption,. This is the East facing side of the lovely church
The Church and the rectory stand proud, the out buildings are of course modern structures. I have no idea what they are used for. I do suspect storage and other possibly a Garage as well.
This is the large Statue of the Virgin Mary, or St, Mary if you wish at the Grotto. It is a lovely and peaceful Monument.
This is such a nice addition to the grounds. The 14 Stations of the cross where added in the 1980s. They start at the front of the church and go around the Property. This particular one is next to the Grotto. This is Station XIV
The church stands very nice on the hill 3 miles south of Esterhazy. It really does sit up there like a crown.
This is the Grotto at the Church in Kaposvar. It was constructed by all the kids in the area at that time. My father had no hand in it as he was way to young. It was constructed in 1934
The interior of the Church from the balcony
The Alter and its surrounding. It is truly a lovely place
Here is one of the side panels at the front of the Church
